About Kooyong

A specialist Melbourne auction house

Kooyong Fine Auctions is a Melbourne-based specialist auction business focused on fine jewellery, estate pieces, gemstones, watches, timepieces and selected collectables.

The business

Traditional auction expertise, clear modern access.

Kooyong Fine Auctions is a Melbourne-based specialist auction house focused on fine and estate jewellery, gemstones, watches and selected collectables. We combine traditional auction expertise with live online bidding through nominated auction platforms, supporting clients throughout Australia and internationally.

Our approach is personal and practical. We work with buyers, vendors, collectors, executors and professional advisers to understand the item, explain the available options and guide the process from valuation and cataloguing through to sale, payment and collection.

What matters

Identify, describe and present objects carefully, without unhelpful claims.

  2. Transparency

Make process, buyer’s premium, condition context, payment and next actions clear.

  3. Discretion

Respect the personal, family and estate context that often sits behind jewellery.

  4. Presentation

Approach

Look closely. Explain plainly.

Good auction advice is not simply a price. It is understanding what an item is, how it should be presented and which path suits the object and the client’s objective.

Kooyong makes that process easier to navigate, from valuation and cataloguing through to bidding, payment, collection and delivery arrangements.

  1. Understand the item

Review materials, condition, provenance, documents and the client’s reason for seeking advice.

  2. Explain the options

Discuss auction, valuation, estate support or another suitable next step before a commitment is made.

  3. Prepare it properly

Catalogue, photograph and present suitable items with enough context for informed decisions.

  4. Support the handover

Keep payment, collection, insured delivery and release arrangements clear after the sale.
